This free pattern creates a graceful shawl you can throw around your shoulders or over the back of a chair with equal elegance. In straightforward stockinette stitch, it’s the perfect project for both newer knitters and accomplished knitters. It’s especially great for some relaxing knitting between more complicated projects.
For this Simple Stockinette Wrap, we used the exuberantly self-striping Lang . This bulky-weight yarn is 90% merino extra fine virgin wool, with a 10% touch of strengthening nylon. Long washes of shifting color—from sunset pinks and oranges to earthy landscape tones, to bright, happy rainbows—make for fun, gradient stripes in your knitted fabric. Let the yarn do the work!
